When you think of saunas, the first thing that comes to mind is heat; however, not all saunas are the same. A traditional steam-based sauna heats the air to heat the body—it’s all about humidity. An infrared sauna uses light waves, sometimes called far-infrared light, to make heat. Those heat waves, in turn, penetrate and safely, directly and gently warm the body at lower temperatures. For people who may not like the heat of a traditional sauna, infrared can be a great choice.
